Tamara Broadhead, APRN
Dr. Broadhead received her Bachelor of General Science from Brigham Young University in 2004, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University of Utah 2013, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Idaho State University in 2017. She received her post graduate certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2019 at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. In 2019, she was honored with an outstanding clinician award from Utah Nurse Practitioners Association. She is also an active member of the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, (APNA), the American Nurses Association (ANA) and is a Certified Autism Specialist credentialed through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards. She is board certified in family practice and psychiatry and has 13 years of combined clinical experience managing medications for patients throughout the lifespan. With these dual certifications, her goal is to evaluate children, adolescents and adults from an integrative perspective. Medications are typically an adjunct to other modalities of treatment and Dr. Broadhead is a medication minimalist as necessary. When used appropriately and safely, they can greatly improve the effectiveness of an individual’s treatment plan.
Dr. Broadhead and her husband, Chad, have a blended family of 9 children who are all adults now and have all had their own individuals challenges with mental health conditions. In her spare time, Dr. Broadhead likes to hang out with her 5 grand children, read, play and listen to music, travel as much as possible, and enjoy the great outdoors in as many ways as she can.
